Osurnia is a long-acting, adaptable otic gel designed for the treatment of acute and recurrent otitis externa in dogs. It utilizes a powerful combination of three active ingredients: florfenicol, a broad-spectrum antibiotic that targets common bacteria such as Staphylococcus pseudintermedius; terbinafine, a highly effective antifungal against the yeast Malassezia pachydermatis; and betamethasone acetate, a corticosteroid that reduces the pain, swelling, and inflammation associated with ear infections. The unique gel formulation allows the medication to coat the entire ear canal and remain active for an extended period, simplifying the management of difficult-to-treat infections.
Active Ingredients: Florfenicol (10 mg), Terbinafine hydrochloride (10 mg), and Betamethasone acetate (1 mg).
Approved Species: Dog.
Uses: Treatment of otitis externa associated with susceptible strains of bacteria and yeast.
Form: Otic Gel.
Route of Administration: Otic (instillation into the ear canal).
Osurnia is a prescription-only medication. A valid prescription from a licensed veterinarian is required for purchase. Professional administration or oversight is necessary to ensure the ear canal is properly cleaned and the eardrum is verified as intact prior to use. Your veterinarian will determine the appropriate treatment schedule to ensure the infection is fully resolved.
